The young man quickly broke into the world of car racing and achieved stunning success in the first years of his career: he became champion of the GP3 series and won the Formula 2 racing title earlier than foreseen. In 2016, Charles entered the Ferrari youth academy and spent several training sessions at Haas. Leclerc worked with psychologists and got rid of excessive emotionality, which was reflected in the results – the driver stopped going off the track.
Charles made his debut in F-1 as a member of the Alfa Romeo Sauber team, and in 2018 in Baku he scored his first points, winning 6th place in the standings. An invitation from Scuderia Ferrari soon followed; they considered him the successor to Kimi Raikkonen. Leclerc had a successful season, becoming the youngest Ferrari driver since 1961 and winning the competition against Marcus Ericsson. Charles rarely makes mistakes on the track; its defeats are often associated with an unsuccessful strategy chosen by the team for the race. Leclerc chooses his defensive positions wisely and attacks aggressively in the corners. Despite his youth, he ranked third in the number of pole positions won (16) among Ferrari drivers in history.
