The will host the in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Saturday, not Sunday. That could be important, because it gives running back one le s day to recover from the Russell Wilson Jersey calf injury that he's been dealing with since it ended his regular season in Week 16. during the Ravens' bye week, but potential bad news arrived on Tuesday. On Tuesday, According to Network's Ian Rapoport, Rapoport did add that Ingram "has a chance to play" on Saturday. When Ravens coach John Harbaugh was asked about Ingram's status, ."Yeah, we're not talking about any injuries this week. You'll know (Saturday)," Harbaugh said, per NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala.Facing the Titans without Ingram would be a brutal blow for the top-seeded Ravens. A free agent addition in the offseason, Ingram Garett Bolles Jersey led the Ravens in yards from scrimmage with 1,265 and touchdowns with 15. Meanwhile, The Ravens can certainly be effective on the ground without Ingram. led the team in rushing yards with 1,206. Backup running back racked up 711 yards on the ground. added 225 rushing yards. , per Football Outsiders. As a team, . But there's Russell Wilson T Shirts no doubt that Ingram is a key component of the rushing attack and that their offense would be worse without him. If Jackson is the lightning, Ingram's the thunder. What will be interesting is just how much caution the team deploys when deciding if Ingram will suit up or not. The Ravens are . While teams shouldn't look a week ahead in the playoffs Denver Broncos Hoodies Sweatshirts and a sume they'll move onto the next round -- this Titans team did just upset the in Foxborough -- the Ravens could decide that having Ingram fully healthy for the AFC Championship Game against, say, the is more important than having Ingram at 75 percent for their Divisional Round matchup with the Titans. That's purely a hypothetical, of course. There's no Jonas Griffith Jersey way to know just how bad Ingram's calf is or what the Ravens are thinking. By the sound of it, we -- including the Titans -- might not actually know until Saturday.
After a nightmarish Week 8, we did find ways to rebound in Week 9. We went 8-6 against the spread and nailed our lock of the week in Gale Sayers Jersey the covering against the . We still found new ways to get surprised last Sunday, however, as the dominated the and the lowly were able to cover against the undefeated . Even with those lo ses, we were able to register some notable wins, such as having the upset the Washington Football Team and the covering against the . We have some pretty intriguing games this week! Below I will give you my top five picks, followed by the rest of the bunch. Let's go ahead and jump in. All are via William Hill Sportsbook. Top five picks record: 23-21-1 Overall ATS record: 75-52-3 Thursday, 8:20 p.m. ET (Fox/NFL Network) Latest Odds: Tenne see Titans +1 If you have been following my column this season, you know I use very specific gambling stats compiled by our incredible research team to make my cases for my weekly picks. Naturally, those stats don't always guarantee a win, and it's sometimes better to go with your gut. Full disclosure, the stats back up taking Indianapolis in this matchup, but my gut tells me to go with Tenne see. and Co. fell to the 24-10 last week, and it was a pretty ugly matchup. Even while wasn't perfect, he was still able to find a way to win by double digits. As for the Titans, they got back into the win column with a 24-17 victory over the that was impre sive for a couple of reasons. One, rushed for just 68 yards, and two, Tenne see's defense held the Bears to just 2 of 15 on third down conversions while newly-added cornerback scored on a 63-yard fumble return. The Titans didn't have their two Bilal Nichols Jersey starting pa s rushers last Sunday either, and still found a way to win. The game is in primetime, in Nashville, and the Titans get up for big games. They are 2-0 in primetime games this season, and I think they move to 3-0 on Thursday night. The pick:Titans 28-26 Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox) Latest Odds: Green Bay Packers -13.5 I'm impre sed that rookie quarterback was able to give the a game last week, but this is still one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Packers, however, are one of the best teams in the league in my opinion. Over the last three seasons, Jacksonville is 0-4-1 against the spread vs Chicago Bears Jackets teams multiple games above .500. They have also averaged just 8.4 points per game in those five contests! looks great, is running hard and appears to be one of the . The pick:Packers 30-10 Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox) Latest Odds: Los Angeles Rams -2.5 The Seahawks defense is a serious question mark, one that has everyone wondering if they are a legitimate contender. The Bills racked up 420 yards of total offense on the Seahawks last week and quarterback scored four total touchdowns, but I still have faith in Seattle because of its offense. This week's matchup against the Rams will be the Seahawks' first game as an underdog since Week 1 against the . They are 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games as an underdog, dating back to 2018. The Rams are coming off a bye but have lost two out of their last three games. The lone win came against the Bears during a Monday night game in which struggled to get the offense to do much of anything. The Rams' last lo s came to and the , and the play of was very worrisome. He completed 35 of 61 pa ses for 355 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions but simply struggled to establish a rapport with any of his receivers. The Rams average just 24.1 points per game while the Seahawks lead the league with 34.3 points scored per game. I'll go with Seattle to rebound. The pick:Seahawks 31-24 Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (Fox) Latest Odds: New Orleans Saints -9.5 The 49ers will get several players back that they didn't have available last week but will Germain Ifedi Jersey still be without and . This is a big spread, and San Francisco hasn't been a touchdown underdog since 2018. Still, went 0-2 against the spread as a touchdown underdog in 2018, losing both games by at least 16 points. A reason I like the Saints moving forward is that has his two top wideouts back in and . The two combined to record nine catches for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Buccaneers last Sunday night. Also, it's pretty incredible that registered just 49 total yards in a 38-3 blowout! I'll take the Saints to cover this week against an ailing 49ers team. The pick:Saints 28-17 Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC) Latest Odds: Baltimore Ravens -7 The Ravens certainly haven't been perfect this Marquise Goodwin Jersey season, but I still think they are one of the best teams in the league. Believe it or not, Baltimore actually has a better cover percentage and point differential through eight games than it did last season when the Ravens went 14-2! As for the Patriots, I'm not sure why some were praising them for the 30-27 win they registered over the winle s on Monday night. It certainly felt like a lo s to me. The Patriots will get several players back this week that they didn't have against the Jets, but will that be enough to keep up with the Ravens? Over the last two weeks, touchdown underdogs at home are 4-0 against the spread. That trend ends this week. The pick:Ravens 29-20 (-3) 26-21 over Giants Buccaneers (-5.5) 30-20 over Lions (-4) 28-20 over Washington Texans (+3) 23-20 over Bills (+2) 35-31 over Dolphins (-2.5) 28-24 over Steelers 27-24 over (+7.5) 30-27 over (+4.5) Bears (+2.5) 23-21 over
Countle s to the late John Madden after the Hall of Fame coach and broadcaster died at age 85 on Dec. 28. On Monday night, Commi sioner Roger Goodell joined Peyton and for their special Tug McGraw Jersey "Monday Night Football" broadcast of the visiting the , and he had his own tribute for the -winning icon."Nobody loved football more than Coach Madden," Goodell told the Manning brothers. "In some ways, it was exhausting. He never stopped talking about football. From the morning he woke up until the moment he went to bed, it was nonstop football ... He changed the way we all watch football."Goodell's remarks, Zack Wheeler Jersey which came before some recollections of trips on Madden's famous travel bus, followed a Sunday full of pregame tributes to the former coach. All home teams in Week 17 in honor of Madden, who retired with the best all-time winning percentage among coaches with at least 100 career wins. spanned a college stint as an offensive lineman, a brief run with the , a surge up the coaching ranks, a Super Bowl title, and a 16-time Emmy Award-winning broadcasting career, as well as a record-setting Gary Carter Jersey video game franchise produced in his name. A lo s of NFL regular season games Mike Piazza Jersey could result in an expanded playoff field. While no have yet to be canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NFL competition committee expects to present a resolution to the league's 32 owners based on having a 16-team playoff if games are lost due to COVID-19, .The 's competition met virtually on Monday to discu s the resolution, according to Mortensen, who also noted that future lo s of bye weeks could increase the odds of an extended playoff field. Several teams, including the undefeated , have already seen their bye weeks altered due to the pandemic.By virtue of the league's new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Tug McGraw Jersey NFL was already set to go from a 12 to a 14-team playoff this winter. Under the 14-team field, only the No. 1 seed in each conference would receive a playoff bye, while the other six teams in each conference would play on Wild Card Weekend. If the playoff field is expanded to 16 teams, the top two seeds in each conference would likely receive byes. As it currently stands, the 7 Jose Reyes Jersey -0 Steelers would own the AFC's No. 1 seed, while the 6-1 would own the top seed in the NFC.If the league expands to a 16-team playoff, it would mark the first time since 1982 that at least half of the NFL's Gary Carter Jersey teams participated in the postseason. Following a strike shortened season in '82, the league decided to include 16 of the NFL's 28 teams in the postseason. Dubbing it the " Tournament," eight teams from each conference participated in the playoffs that winter, with Washington winning the four-game tournament after defeating the in Super Bowl XVII. John Riggins, named Super Bowl MVP after rushing for 166 yards and a touchdown, actually rushed for more yards during the '82 playoffs (610) than he did during the nine-game regular season (553). While there probably is not a fan base that is openly rooting for le sregular season games, an extended Jeurys Familia Jersey playoff field would certainly help the , Dolphins, and , four teams that would just mi s the playoffs under the league's current format.
Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner suggested that maybe it's time for and to hang up the cleats. In a recent , Warner said both stars look like they are running out of energy."I think both of those guys look like they're exhausted," Warner said. "It's OK to go, 'You know what? It's not Brandon McCarthy Jersey how it used to be. I may not be who I used to be, or, it's just too hard overall to get everybody up to the standard. Maybe it is time to walk away.'"Warner played in the NFL for 12 seasons before announcing his retirement at the age of 38 in January 2010. He said being a profe sional football player is not easy, but the key to enjoying the experience is finding balance and not letting high expectations on the field take away from other important things in life."Another reason why those last couple years I was doing more and more and more was because I felt like there was more expected of me or there was more I needed to do for us to be succe sful," Warner said. "It started to take more and more away from my family and my Deion Sanders Jersey time, and again, Bob Uecker Jersey me physically to be able to give them the time and effort that I wanted, because my mind was always on other things. So all of that really just kinda played into why I made that decision, but it's hard." Brady technically retired already, but he only stepped away for 40 days this past offseason before announcing his return. The quarterback celebrated his 45th birthday in August. His team has had some disappointing performances this season and currently holds a 3-4 record, which is Brady's first losing record through seven games since 2002, when he played his first full season as an NFL starter with the New England Patriots. The latest setback for Tampa Bay was an ugly 21-3 lo s to the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 23. However, no matter how bad things get.Meanwhile, Rodgers will be 39 years old in December and is also part of a 3-4 team. This is the first time in his 18 NFL seasons that he experienced a Julio Teheran Jersey losing record in the first seven games. Multiple mistakes forced his team to swallow a 23-21 lo s to the Washington Commanders last Sunday. , Rodgers and Brady's combined 1.5 pa sing touchdowns per game so far this season is their worst through Week 7 since 2008, when Rodgers became Green Bay's starter.Warner said he used to dwell on headlines but eventually learned that life is much better when you stop caring about what other people think. He also said that retirement doesn't have to feel like the end of the world. "It's not being defeated," Warner said. "That's not saying you can't do it anymore. I just think sometimes that stuff outweighs the joy of the game, which is what it looks like is happening for those Orlando Cepeda Jersey two guys and I feel for them."
The clock is ticking for teams to sign players given the franchise designation to a long-term deal. The deadline for franchise players to sign multiyear contracts is July 15 at 4 p.m. ET. After the deadline pa ses, players with franchise tags are prohibited from signing long-term deals until the end of the regular season on Jan. 8, 2023.Eight players received franchise player designations this year. Four have already signed long term. The two franchised wide receivers quickly agreed to deals after the 2022 league year started on March 16. The gave a three-year, $60 million deal with $40 million fully guaranteed despite him tearing the Julio Teheran Jersey ACL and MCL in his right knee late in the 2021 regular season. The acquired from the for 2022 first- and second-round picks in a sign-and-trade transaction. Adams signed a five-year, $140 million contract containing $65.67 million in guarantees. The maximum value of Adams' contract is $141.25 million because of an annual $250,000 Pro Bowl incentive. Adams' deal is really $67.5 million over three years because there's $72.5 million in the last two years. The chances of Adams playing 2025 and 2026 for $36.25 million each when he's 32 and 33 years old are remote. The signed left tackle to a three-year, $52.75 million contract with $33 million fully guaranteed. The deal is worth as much as $54.25 million with incentives. The made the 's fifth-highest-paid tight end by average yearly salary at $13,687,500 per year. Njoku's four-year, $54.75 million contract has $28 million in guarantees. The maximum value of the deal is $56.75 million thanks to $500,000 of annual incentives based on All-Pro selections. Here's a look at the situations of the four franchise players who haven't signed long term. There wasn't any doubt that the Chiefs were going to franchise Brown for $16.662 million. The Chiefs couldn't risk Brown potentially being a one-year rental by becoming a free agent given the draft capital required to obtain him from the shortly before the 2021 . Brown forced a trade because he wanted to be a left tackle, which wasn't po sible in Baltimore because of All-Pro . The Chiefs gave up their 2021 first-round pick (31st overall), a 2021 third-round pick, a 2022 fourth pick and a 2022 fifth-round selection to the Ravens for Brown, a 2021 second-round pick and a 2022 sixth-round pick.Brown validated his move from right tackle to left tackle with a selection to the Pro Bowl last season. The Chiefs are likely going to join the ranks of teams Tom Glavine Jersey paying a premium financially when a long-term deal for a player who had remaining time on his contract isn't done in connection with a trade involving significant draft capital.Brown, who recently hired Michael Portner of the Delta Sports Group as his new agent, has expre sed optimism about his signing. Any long-term deal will surely put Brown in the $20 million-per-year offensive lineman club, which currently has three members. Left tackles , and have deals with the , Packers and , averaging $23.01 million, $23 million and $22 million per year, respectively. Bates reportedly has no intention of playing under his $12.911 million franchise tag. Sitting Nick Markakis Jersey out the season if a long-term deal isn't reached by July 15 would be surprising. The franchise tag is more than twice as much what Bates made from his four-year rookie contract that expired after the 2021 season. Bates' career earnings to date from his NFL player contract are just over $6.225 million. It is a rarity for franchise players to mi s a season. Last time it happened before running back in 2018 was with Chiefs defensive lineman in 1998.The Bengals probably view the $14 million per year that , who was designated as a franchise player by the in 2021, received from the Ravens on a five-year deal in free agency this year as indicative of Bates' value. Bates likely was looking for a deal in the same vicinity as , who reset the safety market with a four-year, $70 million contract extension, averaging $17.5 million per year and worth up to $72 million through incentives and salary escalators from the last August. That was before the recent developments in the safety market. The Steelers making the league's highest-paid safety on a four-year extension, averaging $18.247 million per year with $36 million fully guaranteed, only complicates matters. Frustrated by the slow pace of negotiations for a new contract, Schultz skipped the final part of organized team activities. He avoided being fined $95,877 by showing up for the mandatory June minicamp. The Cowboys can't be happy about the Njoku deal. Njoku's $13,687,500 average per year should serve as a salary floor for Schultz especially since Njoku doesn't measure up to him statistically. Schultz had a career year in 2021 with 78 catches, 808 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He was more productive last season in 17 games than Njoku was over the last two seasons combined in the 29 games he played. Njoku caught 55 pa ses for 688 yards with six touchdowns. Schultz produced 23 more receptions, 120 more receiving yards and two Kurt Suzuki Jersey more touchdown catches than Njoku.Schultz and the Cowboys reportedly aren't close to reaching a deal. Playing the franchise tag game hasn't been the most economical move for the Cowboys. The last two times Dallas had someone play a season under a franchise tag, it cost them more to eventually sign the players long term. The same concept would likely apply to Schultz with a productive 2022 season. The Cowboys definitely wouldn't have needed to sign defensive end to a five-year, $105 million contract, averaging $21 million per year, if a deal had been done in 2018. At the July 15 long-term deal deadline, the $20 million-per-year non-quarterback didn't exist. doesn't sign a $40 million contract in March 2021 with an agreement reached in July 2020. There's a good chance Prescott's deal would have been under the $35 million-per-year extension signed with the Seahawks in 2019. didn't get his $39 million-per-year extension from the Texans, which was seemingly an important data point for Prescott, until right before the 2020 regular season started. All has been quiet on the Gesicki contract front. The NFL season is finally upon us and we get a fairly interesting matchup in Week 1 that will take place in Charlotte. Jon Gruden and the now-Las Vegas travel acro s the country to take on the this weekend -- and it's fair to say that both teams are entering a new era. Gruden is trying to turn the Raiders back into a winning franchise in a new location while first-year head coach Matt Rhule is out to prove that Matt Joyce Jersey he belongs in this league. The Raiders appeared ready to make a late push for a spot in the postseason last year, but a four-game losing streak at the end of the season took them out of contention. They even lost their last two games in Oakland, which was even if you aren't a Raiders fan. Still, this team does appear to be headed in the right direction and po se ses young talent on both sides of the ball. The quarterback position is still one to watch, however. As for the Panthers, they are an entirely different team. No more Ron Rivera, , , or . They still do have , but can the versatile offensive weapon single-handedly win games for this young team?Below, we will get you caught up on the most intriguing betting angles to get you locked in before kickoff. All odds are via William Hill Sportsbook.Date:Sunday, September 13 |Time:1 p.m. ETLocation:Bank of America Stadium (Charlotte, North Carolina)TV:CBS|Stream:Follow: Back in May, this line originally opened up with the Panthers as one-point favorites! To be fair, however, a lot has taken place in Carolina over the past four months. The spread has moved in the Raiders' favor by about an average of Santiago Casilla Jersey a point per month, and it now currently sits at -3.The pick: Raiders -3.The all-time series between these two teams is tied 3-3 with the Panthers having won two out of the past three. As CBS Sports writer Patrik Walker notes in his , however, this matchup is about rookie versus veteran coaches. Expect McCaffrey to receive plenty of touches both on the ground and through the air, but I'm picking the Raiders to win this game against a rebuilding Panthers team. The Raiders were one of the lowest-scoring teams in the NFL last season, as they averaged just 19.6 points per contest. I expect this offense to be better in 2020, but how much better is yet to be determined. The Panthers weren't much better in 2019, as they averaged 21.3 points per game, but they upgraded at quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Still, the Saints averaged just 25 points a game with him as their starter in five games last season, and I would be shocked if Carolina got close to that number in the season opener. Pick: Under 47.5. With any contest in Week 1, I would stay away from betting on the total. Due to the lack of a preseason and offseason in general, we have no idea which teams are going to show more rust than others, but I expect both to run the ball plenty in this matchup. The pick: Raiders -1.5.I have the Raiders winning this game and I am unafraid to predict that they will hold a halftime lead. With this small Dave Henderson Jersey of a spread, go ahead and take it. total receiving yards: Over 16.5 (-115). Jacobs caught just 20 pa ses in 13 games last season, but he has made it clear that he wants to be more involved in the pa sing game, even saying . I predict he will make several catches in this game, and 18 yards is not hard to clear. Christian McCaffrey total receiving yards: Over 52.5 (-105).With this being Rhule's first game as an NFL head coach, I expect him to give McCaffrey plenty of touches. The Pro Bowl running back averaged over 62 receiving yards a game last year, and I believe 52.5 is too low of a benchmark in the season opener. With how explosive he is, it Andrew Triggs Jersey could take him just a handful of catches to get to the Over. total receptions: Over 4.5 (-130).Waller was undisputed favorite receiver in 2019, as he caught 90 of his 117 targets for 1,145 yards and three touchdowns. No other player on the Raiders even reached 50 receptions. Through basic math, we can see that Waller averaged over five catches a game last season, but there's another reason to be excited about this prop: Waller will be working the middle of the field against a young linebacker corps that does not include the likes of Luke Kuechly. Carr should be looking Waller's way early and often on Sunday.Derek Carr pa sing completions: Under 23.5 (+110).The 23.5 line for completions is an interesting one for Carr. looked a bit inaccurate during his 2020 debut and finished with just 20 completions while barely went over on this number on Thursday night with 24. Yes, the Chiefs did run the ball plenty with rookie , but this Raiders game could end up being a lot like the Chiefs' victory earlier this week. If the Raiders establish an early lead, Jacobs is sure to get plenty of work on the ground. Carr recorded the second-most completions of his career last season with 361. Still, that's just an average of Reggie Jackson Jersey 22.5 completions per game. If Carr looks rusty or the Raiders jump out to an early lead, those are both factors that could help you hit the Under here.

is fed up.The Houston Texans' star defensive end has expre sed frustration multiple times during George Springer Jersey the club's four-win season. Following to the Cincinnati Bengals, the annoyance with his team's play boiled over.Watt said the defense played "horrendously," forcing just one punt of a -led Bengals offense while giving up 540 total yards and 7.6 yards per play. In the second half, the Texans allowed Cincinnati to move up and down the field at will, scoring three touchdowns and two field goals in five po se sions.Watt acknowledged this has been the toughest year in his decade in the NFL.Asked how his team regroups from a lo s like Sunday and gets ready for a game in Week 17 during a lost season, Watt provided an epic riff:"If you can't come in and put work in in the building, go out to the practice field and work hard, Houston Astros Jersey do your lifts and do what you're supposed to do, you should not be here," , via Joe Gleason of KTRK.
