The question is whether the new item disrupts the game's from hgdgsvhgvuj's blog

Since the hats were only available for a short time and were later removed the lucky player to have one can sell the hats for RuneScape Gold billions of coins. While the hats are only decorative and do not offer bonus stats, they are right now among the top items on the Grand Exchange, hitting the highest price of 2.1billion gold in the year 2015.

To get their hands on heads or the Golden Party Hat, players must fulfill "various goals" and earn eight golden shards in exchange for their efforts. Once all eight have been earned, they are added to the Golden Party Hat.

But, not only is the event limited in time, but only one golden hat will be created per player. Much like the 2001 hats, Jagex claims of the golden hats that "after the cut-off time they will not be ever again available for purchase!"

The question is whether the new item disrupts the game's economy and decreases the value of existing partyhats or is an entirely new and even more premium item remains to be determined. Jagex will be celebrating the occasion all the same with a change to the game's Grand Exchange location into "a Golden Party Hat winter wonderland".

The golden hat is the crowning feature (sorry) to the RuneScape's annual celebrations of the 20th anniversary. It will launch alongside the reintroduction of the partyhat event, it's the fourth and final stage of the anniversary challenge, Once Upon a Time, which runs all through the through the year.

A fitting title Finale, the chapter is described as "the final chapter of the story that explores RuneScape's historical, present, as Buy OSRS Gold well as future, and completes the storyline to the end for Relomia who is the antagonist of the quest."
