Frontier Airlines allows small pets (dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and household birds) to travel with passengers for a fee. These animals must be in an approved carrier under the seat during the flight, while larger pets travel as cargo. Emotional support animals (ESAs) are also allowed onboard, though some restrictions and fees apply.
To fly with your pet, you must book your ticket in advance and arrive early. This will ensure that you are able to check-in your pet in time for your flight. Check-in is completed at the airline counter and requires that your pet be removed from its carrier for inspection in a metal detector. Depending on your destination, your pet may be subject to additional requirements and inspections.
When you check-in, you will be required to pay a Frontier Airlines pet travel fee of $99 each way for your pet to travel in the cabin. This can be paid in advance when you book your flight, or on the day of travel at the airport ticket counter. Service animals are exempt from this fee, but must comply with all cabin pet guidelines.
To qualify as a service animal, your dog must be fully trained to perform tasks for you that help with your disability. Psychiatric service animals are also accepted, but must be well-trained as well. Frontier reserves the right to refuse any pet that does not meet these guidelines, and reserves the right to place your animal in cargo if necessary.
