What Are Strongholds?
Strongholds are large, fortified enemy camps scattered across Sanctuary. Initially introduced as a major gameplay feature, they allowed players to clear out significant groups of Diablo 4 Items foes for rewards and experience. Over time, however, Strongholds became somewhat redundant as the game’s meta shifted and new content was added.
The New Reputation System
In Diablo 4 Season 5, Strongholds are set to receive a significant overhaul thanks to the introduction of a revamped reputation system. According to Lead Seasons Designer Daniel Tanguay, this new system will breathe new life into Strongholds, making them more relevant and rewarding than before.
Key Features of the Reputation System:
Diverse Earning Methods: Unlike the previous system, which primarily revolved around specific events like Helltides or the seasonal questline, the new reputation system allows players to earn reputation through a variety of activities. These include:
Completing Strongholds: Clearing Strongholds will now contribute to your reputation progression.
New Roguelite Mode: Engage in the Infernal Hordes mode, a roguelike feature debuting this season.
Seasonal Quests: Progress through seasonal quests that are now tied to reputation tiers.
Reputation Tiers: The system is tiered, meaning you’ll need to reach certain levels of reputation to unlock further progression in seasonal quests. These tiers will grant access to various rewards as you advance.
Rewards: The rewards for accumulating reputation are varied and enticing:
Class-Specific Uniques: Unique items tailored to your character’s class.
Crafting Materials: Essential resources for upgrading and crafting gear.
Resplendent Spark: A special item that can be used to buy Diablo 4 Items craft Mythic Unique items, which are highly coveted for their powerful attributes.
Experience Boost: Earning reputation will also provide a small experience boost, helping you reach level 100 faster. This is particularly beneficial as it will enhance your Legendary item drop rates in various high-level activities such as Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, and Infernal Hordes.
