Diablo 4 beta hasn't convinced from Mya's blog

Blizzard is confirming that Diablo 4 is still getting Set Items, though you'll likely be waiting until post-launch for the ability to use them within the game.

Game designer Joe Shely explains during a recent roundtable that reimagining sets in a way that fits Diablo 4 properly wouldn't be feasible for the launch of Diablo 4 in the first quarter of next year. However, the team is looking at including them as part of Live service.

"As we've been working on the game, we thought that we could create sets in a completely new style that's similar to what we've experienced in Diablo 4. We needed more time to get them into the game in a way that will fit in with the rest of Diablo 4, so you will not see any sets when you first start in the game," Shely explains. "We think sets are interesting, and we'd like to create them in a way that is right - so we're looking into for the live services we're planning to offer."

"There's an iconic staff in the demo , which transforms the spell's fireball to the triple fireball spell" former game director Luis Barriga told Polygon(opens in new tab) back in the year. "The thing that's different is that you know, a activated spell in the current version of Diablo 4 gives you bonuses which can be a million times more. We're attempting to design the game right now to be less constrained in order to not get the game into that massively increasing power curve."

If you're not sure to the term "set", Set Items are basically strong items of equipment that provide greater power when fully put together. They're "set" in that they always provide the same bonus features, and as such, they come as part of an entire set. They were initially introduced during Diablo 2, though it was with Diablo 4 that they became the most dominant. It is yet to be determined how they will affect the Diablo 4 meta should they appear, but there's no doubt that their impact on the growing fashion scene will be greatly felt.

It's a bit disappointing that the Diablo 4 beta hasn't convinced me yet, but I'm eager to play longer (Set Items or not).
