The history of this Jyotirling establishment is summarised in the Himalayas on the Kedar Shrine, where the incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Mahapatva Nar, and Narayan Rishi used to perform penance. Lord Shankar appeared to be pleased with his worship, and in response to his prayer, he granted the bride eternal life in the form of Jyotirlinga. This place is situated in Kardar, in the Kedarnath mountain range of the Himalayas. It is a part of the Uttaranchal state of India, settled in the Himalayan range. This is the town panchayat of Rudraprayag. This is a sacred place for followers of the Hindu religion.
