In a new chat with 4Gamer (translated by Nintendo Everything), Triangle Strategy producer Tomoya Asano discussed the design style and D2R Ladder Items how it's used into future games for the company. The interviewer was shocked that more independent games haven't started to copy that style, Asano revealed the reason is that it's a bit expensive!
"It's likely to be worth noting that it's cost is higher than you'd imagine. In this sense, it's the perfect match with the titles that come out of Square Enix. There might not be much to gain from other companies copying it," Asano told 4gamer.Fortunately that doesn't stop Square Enix from releasing more games of this type.
One of the remakes for Live a Live is set to release exclusively on Nintendo Switch in July, as a remake of Dragon Quest III is currently being developed. There are many other games which could benefit from this style and it will be interesting to see exactly what Square Enix does with HD-2D next. While the company is clearly put money into this style of graphic, Asano went on to explain that there's no present "definitive Bible," and it will continue to change from game to game.
"We haven't created something like this. The way that it's presented differs for each title, meaning that the HD-2D flavour will differ slightly each time. For Live A Live for example the setting in the prehistoric portion will be different to the sci-fi scene.
The variety of our expressions has grown thanks to the fresh ideas we've devised. "While the price might be prohibitive for some developers, HD-2D has definitely worked as a selling point for many gamers D2R Ladder Items Buy. I hope we'll watch Square Enix find new ways to further develop the style and create more games to be released!
